Berryfall: Rippleclan Activity Check

The crisp autumn breeze blowing through her fur didn’t even register to Berryfall as she walked along the Lightclan border with her patrol. She had been ordered by her father, Smokestar, to check on this border along with two of her siblings, Nightrunner and Maplespot, as well as a few more of her clanmates. Though Nightrunner was as focused and determined as always, Berryfall’s mind was nowhere near the Lightclan border, it was resting farther down the river, where the Breezeclan cat’s resided, where he was.
“Berryfall!” Her littermate called out a second before her paw caught under a root, causing her to trip and fall to the ground. She grumbled with pain and the dark tom laughed before helping her back up. “Pay attention to where you’re stepping,” he said as he turned to check the border once more.
“R- right,” Berryfall murmured, stepping back up and shaking the dirt from her fur. She knew that she had to focus, that border patrols were important to the clan, but the clan seemed less and less important to the brown she-cat each day. There was a feeling in her stomach that told her she wouldn’t be able to fight against him should a battle break out, nor would she be able to kill his friends, to hurt anyone who might mean something to him. But that wasn’t what mattered now. What mattered was the border between Rippleclan and Lightclan, a border that didn’t separate her from him, but that kept her safe and loyal to the clan that she was born in, the clan that she had promised to protect until the end of her days. Soon enough though, she felt that her promise might be breaking, that her betrayal would arise, and that she could be with him forever.
